12 year old grade quarter horse gelding, 15.2 hands, looking for new home. Please read whole ad before inquiring.Dakota is looking for a new home, he is not sound for full riding due to ringbone in his back left pastern. The vet has said he is ok for light riding. We have come to a point where it doesn't make sense to have an extra horse, as we ride rough mountain trails, so we are offering him to three right home.If he sounds like a fit for you, message me and we can discuss, not trying to get a lot of $$$ out of him. We don't want him ending up in a bad situation so please be prepared for questions.Dakota is the perfect companion horse. He does not get worked up when left alone. We have ridden him away from the rest of the group, and he is very calm about being away from his friends. He is low man in the herd, no aggressive behavior.He is respectful of the farrier but can get a bit sore due to his ringbone.He was extremely ear and muzzle shy when we got him, but with time and a bit of work he has gotten much better. He can be tricky to deworm or give oral medication to because of it but with some patience he eventually cooperates.Easy to catch, and loads wonderfully in a trailer. He was the horse we put beginners on. He is very sweet and has a playful nature to him. He can be a bit wary at first but he will warm up with time.Located in Rye, Colorado.Willing to provide transportation for a price depending on distance.
