Sammy has spent the last three years as part of Horse Power providing equine riding therapy to disabled persons. Sammy was providing 5-8 lessons per week. Sammy was used for a variety of ridding levels including persons needing mounting assistance onto the horse by an overhead lift. Through no fault of his own Sammy is being offered for sale to the right home. Sammy was my friends younger sisters horse and the sister has went off to college. The parents are not horse people and the older daughter has three of her own horses. Sammy is 15h Black Rocky Mountain Gelding 16 years old with one white sock. He is very square well built, travels square and has a nice easy gait. He is a Rocky and has the fabulous double thick mane and tail I wish I could transplant onto my own head. He is an easy saddle fit with good shoulders. His teeth were done in January and he is up to date on all shots. Although he needs a new Coggins. He travels well with a good head nod in a gaited comfort bit and was used in a bitless bridle or snaffle for the therapy lessons. Sammy is an in your pocket horse in the arena he wants to be with you, will follow you anywhere, loves attention. He is just plain cute in looks and personality with big soft kind eyes. Any obstacle you can throw at him balls, air dancers, tarps, noisy things he is good with. He comes to the mounting block to be mounted and lines up easy. Sammy was a trail horse before horsepower. He is currently at Franklin Creek at a friends and will have about 60 hours of trail time on him as a re-fresher crossing water, going out alone, not seeing dragons and such. He is a champ and enjoys being out and cruising around the trails. He will go out alone lead or follow and is happy to go 5 miles or 15 miles. Currently he is out at Franklin Creek and will be back in DeKalb about July 20th. In the heard of my 7 he is in the middle and does not challenge the leader or pick on my old 36 year old gelding, or mess with the mare. He loads fine in the trailer, stands good for feet cleaning and the fairer, and bug spray. Sammy had an abscess 18 months ago the vet removed a splinter. Based on x-rays the best place to remove it was out the front. This has left a cosmetic blemish in the front right hoof wall. The blemish has grown out and is not leaving any marks or should leave any problems. He travels fine on my gravel driveway and is not off at all. I have epoxy and can fill it for you, but want the new owner to see it as is. If this guy was 6 inches taller I'd keep him but all my horses are 16.2 plus. So great for you! This guy is going to make a great horse for someone.
