Quiet, easy going gelding looking for low key riding/trail home

Bernie is as sweet as they come. He is great with kids, has done camp, will stand all day to be groomed. He was a trail horse in TX before we got him, and he would prefer a home where he does light ring work. We think he would be happiest as a 1 owner horse (not lesson horse) or family horse doing lower level work and trail riding.Bernie can quietly w/t/c and even has popped over a few x-rails. We have ridden him English, but also likes a western saddle. He has absolutely no vices under saddle or bad behaviors. He does require some maintenance to keep him 100% sound. He does also have some saddle burns on his back which donât cause him any discomfort, other than the discoloration in his hair. These indicators show that maybe Bernie did not have the best life before we got him, so we are looking for a soft landing for him, where he would be well loved with a lighter workload.We would absolutely love to keep him, but he doesnât seem to want to be a lesson horse, and heâs too sweet of a horse for us to keep him in a program where heâs not 100% happy
