Please text - no scams - located outside Ocala. Looking to rehome black and white paint pony, Mio. A little back story: we purchased this pony from an auction with hopes that he would be our girls' first pony and have a soft place to land after being a "ranch pony" all his life. He was being sold as a 7y/o kids pony. I will be 100% honest: he was sold on a bed of lies and is being sold as a project, NOT A KIDS PONY. He is roughly 14-16 years old - recently had his teeth done. He has had several trail rides around the property and gave me a few good rides in the paddock before putting a child on him. He is a little gate sour, but nothing I did not think could be worked through. After about a month of having and riding him, the oldest was on her second ride when he decided to be very naughty and bucked her off. Afterward, I got on him, and he was also quite nasty to me (bucking, no rear). The vet has checked him, the tack was all checked, and no physical issues were found. I, unfortunately, do not have the time to give him consistent training (that he was not supposed to need as he was sold as a broke kids pony.) He was probably turned out with a herd and followed the herd everywhere with some little kid in tow, but alone he is not safe for a child. We have worked on getting him used to fly spray and baths, as he acted as if it had never been done before. He has been turned out in a large field for a few months now with weekly groomings. Ok, here are his good points, low maintenance, sound, loads on the trailer better than anything I have owned, good for the blacksmith, and will stand all day for the kids to brush and pick his feet. Looking to recoup some of what we have in him so we can try and find a more suitable pony for the girls.
