Journey is a 6 year old, 14.3 hh grade gelding (Missouri Fox Trotter Cross) that will tug at your heart strings. He has a puppy dog personally. He is the first to meet you at the gate and just wants to be your best friend, but is not pushy or disrespectful about it. He has been with me since November and had a solid 90 days (and continuing until sold), and an inconsistent 60 days between Nov/March. So all together 5 months of training. Journey is a willing partner who wants to please. He is still continuing to build more confidence, but has been ridden in arenas, on gravel roads, in pastures, and next to the hwy with cars/trucks/simis. He crosses water, goes up and down hills and ditches willingly. Side passes, pivots on front and hindquarters. Can work a gate. I feel like he would make a wonderful Competitive Trail horse as he has tons of endurance and can cover lots of ground! He's in prime condition (I can lope him for a full mile comfortably without him being winded) or he's happy to walk.He was sold to me grade last November, so I'm not positive on his breed, but he appears to be a gaited breed/cross. I'm fairly sure he's Missouri Fox Trotter, crossed with something else. He does not fox trot. However, his trot is coming along very nicely and he can be very smooth with all 3 gaits. His lope is smooth and a lot of fun to ride. He has an amazing stop. He carries his head naturally high, and I have been riding him in a tie down just because he is smoother/slower right now with his head slightly lower then he likes to carry it naturally. He is being ridden in a correction bit currently and is very soft/ light in every way. (Head, neck and body) Works off of you seat well, neck reins and is very voice cue oriented. You will not be disappointed in this horse and he has a TON more potential for anyone who will help him continue to develop himself. I am selling him as a horse for an intermediate rider (NOT a kid's horse) because he is still young, and can be a bit spooky in unfamiliar situations but works trough them quickly. He loves everyone he meets and gets along fantasticly with our kids in the pasture/on the ground. Journey will not disappoint you. He does best if he has a job to do, or a trail to follow. Easy keeper, just have him on grass hay with a hay net. Ties, stands, bathes, loads on and off a slant load very well.
