TWH, but we are pretty sure his grandma may have been shacking up with a Belgian. Red roan gelding, Aged 13 by a vet.Does not require any special shoeing, tack or bits to gait. He is currently barefoot and doing great. Can be ridden in a shank or snaffle, Western or English, does not care which.Has a recent clean PPE, but your own PPE is welcome. Coggins is on hand. UTD on everything. Stays fat on low quality air.Safe, sound and sane. No buck, rear or bolt, ever. If anything concerns him, he will look, then take a deep breath and keep on walking. No explosive behaviors. He does not require emotional support to go over obstacles and will walk over just about everything in a safe and sensible manner.Will ride alone, in a group, in front, behind, wherever you want to with no discussion or shenanigans. He will ride behind non-gaited horses without getting upset. He is also plenty mellow enough to stick your dummy friend on a trail ride. But at the same time very responsive and a ton of fun, if you want to get up and go. He has a pillow-soft canter when asked. He adjusts himself to the level of the rider in our experience. We have that on video. Has a great whoa.He knows the âpick me upâ trick and will pick you up from a mounting block, stumps, fence, trailer wheel well or the back of you truck.Traffic safe and most everything else safe. I havenât found anything that bothers him much. Not a speed demon, will walk or gait on loose rein. We ride him in a snaffle, but he has been ridden in a shank before us all of his life. He doesnât care which.Not barn or buddy sour at all. There is never any discussion as to who is driving, ever.Trailers like a champ, quiet as a mouse in the trailer. Can leave him in the trailer and go have lunch, he will be serenely chomping hay the whole time.He has lived in a mixed herd for years and has been a personal family member horse. He is not a sale barn horse that has had 20 owners in the past 5 years. He has great stall manners, but is currently living out with access to stall and loves it too. During the cold snap he was stalled more time than he wasnât and it did no effect his demeanor at all.Stands stock still for grooming, tacking up, bathing and clipping. Even behind the ears â we have videos. Your farrier will love you, cause he is the easiest dude to work on, no impatience whatsoever. There are videos of that as well.Was ridden to town regularly past 4 summers.He is the same horse whether you ride every day or once in a blue moon.Wouldnât recommend buying specifically for a stone cold beginner for the same reason you wouldnât first start learning to drive on an 18 wheeler. He is steady, but big and responsive. However, he has been trail-ridden by my confident beginner husband and by my fearless beginner mom, who is 66.
