Looking for the right person for a lovely grade Missouri Fox Trotter gelding project. Approx. 13 years old, 14.3 hands. Located in Wheat Ridge, CO.Bowie needs a confident, calm rider to continue his training. He was successfully restarted last year and has been ridden in the arena and on trails but has not been ridden consistently since April 2024.He currently wears front shoes and is up to date on all vaccines, Coggins, and dental.Bowieâs strengths:Gaits beautifully under saddle, can also trot and canterLoads, unloads no problemsEasy to groom and clipGood for vetGood for farrier with mild sedationSmart and athleticGenerally not spooky despite his lack of trust in people (see below)Responds to voice commands at libertyWhere he needs work:He is cautious with strangers and often has anxiety with new people and new situationsHe can be reactiveHe tends to rush under saddle and generally lacks confidenceBowie would do best in a home where he can be regularly exercised and where he can spend lots of time outdoors. He is a sensitive, high energy boy! I think he would do best as a trail horse for an experienced rider that will take the time to get to know him and bond with him.
