2004 foalArabian16.1 hhGeneral: Antar was raised as a trail horse by his previous owner/breeder. I have owned him for 4 years. I have used him as a reliable trail horse-- both English and Western. He likes to be a follower and can tend to be pokey but he responds well to a little push. We have also explored fox hunting in the walk/trot group. He has no trouble keeping up with the group but he would need more hours to be a reliable fox hunter. I have not tried him over fences. He crosses obstacles and goes through ditches and water without issue. He tends to shy at large boulders but will pass with gentle persuasion.Temperament: Antar is a goofball. He is fun, and I think he enjoys making people laugh. He loads easily and is a gentleman with the farrier. He has excellent ground manners. He gets along well with other horses. His only quirk: he can be âgirthyâ when cinching up. He has been trialed on ulcer medicine but he has no other symptoms of this disease, and did not improve when tried on ulcer medicine. The vetâs opinion was that this is behavioral, not physiologic. Heâs fine once you stop messing with the girth/cinch.Health: Iâve had no health issues with him. He had a routine vet check including a sheath check and spring shots in May, 2024. Coggins negative May 2024. Dewormed in March. His last dental was in 2022. He sees the farrier every 6-8 weeks. Iâve had him out of shoes for a year but he needs front shoes for work. He exhibits no lameness and never has for me. He has no dietary restrictions. I sent him to work with a trainer last summer because I could not ride later in the summer just to keep him busy. She loved him and enjoyed his willing and friendly demeanor. We will be moving soon and downsizing. Unfortunately, I need to sell this nice horse
