Description:
âMajor Payneâ (Major) is a 7 year old Grade quarterX gelding. He is 14.2, stocky dude. He loads, stands, ties, and clips. He will stand for the farrier as well. Major can be a pocket pony once he gets to know you, with personality for days. He is a great all-around fellow that easily transitions from doing a three phase, to a local open show, arena work, or onto long trail rides. He'd make an amazing fox hunt pony. He's usually up for anything and can be a lovely, floaty, graceful mover when asked. He has had a Polocrosse racket and ball on him, has a few practices under his belt, and been around other horses and doesnât kick or bite. We did not pursue PX with him because of his allergies and what seemed to be his personal preference for self preservation. He's not totally bomb proof, but we live near a military base with constant fly-overs and big booms from trainings. He's with chickens, guineas, cows, donkeys, minis, and cats. He's the goofball in the field flapping a stray feedbag at his friends because he's cheeky like that. A total Dennis the Menace personality, mischievous but so stinking lovable. He's built like a brick wall, but can move like a gymnast. He is an easy keeper, barefoot, great feet, with trims every 6 weeks. He is up to date on his coggins, vaccines, and teeth. He needs a confident rider, he is not a beginners' horse. He will test his limits to see how much he can get away with.Major needs a cooler, less humid climate than NC can offer. He has allergies but is completely asymptomatic in the winter, he is most certainly triggered by the humidity of NC as some endured this past weekend. He has had extensive vet care for the allergies because our ultimate goal was to have him forever, he stole our hearts. I can go into more specifics if interested.
