Shys Bay Watch "Dutch" is a 2000 bay AQHA mare ready for the next step in her life - be it a companion, trail horse or whatever venue you may want to do with her.We have owned Dutch since her 2/3 year old year. We had her professionally trained and have her at a couple of different trainers for refreshers through the years. Throughout her life with us, Dutch has been shown some in AQHA shows along with Open/Fun shows as well as many years in 4H by an experienced rider. She has also been to some roping events and ridden/socialized at shows. She was shown in Halter, Showmanship, Horsemanship, Western Pleasure, Bareback and more. Dutch has also been trail ridden/camped with extensively. She will go up/down hills, through water, over bridges. We have worked with her since she was young and she's a beautiful mover with a great mind, however, she is extremely smart and will take advantage of a novice rider or a kid -- so an experienced horse person is best. We can ride her English or Western, with/without a saddle or bridle. Dutch responds really well to leg pressure and can neck rein. She is sensitive to spurs so we do not use them on her. Dutch has never been bred. She keeps in a stall with no issue. Dutch stands wonderfully for the farrier/grooming/banding/clipping/tacking up/bathing. Lunges in the round pen or on a lunge line. She trailers well and stands tied to the trailer with no problem. She does get blanketed in the winter but can be stalled or left in pasture. We do leave her out most of the day now but do bring her in at night. Dutch hasn't left our farm for the last couple of years due to some life changes we've had. We have, however, hopped on and ridden/lunged her/worked on ground work with her every so often around the farm. She WILL NEED a training refresher since she's had the last couple of years off. She is current on farrier work and was just dewormed.
