Description:
Jericho is a 5 year old registered Percheron gelding standing at 18 hands. Yes, he really is that big. He is black going grey, so he will not stay this cool color forever. He is broke to ride and drive single. Jericho is a little green due to his age, but is a gentle giant. He is easy to catch and lead, but does know his size so not for an inexperienced handler. Jericho stands very well for the farrier, no stocks required, and has impeccable feet, especially for a guy his size. He is 100% sound and barefoot. Jericho rides english or western, stands to be groomed, tacked, and mounted, even from the ground (if your hips stretch that far). Heâs great out on trails, not a huge fan of riding out alone but will do it. Jericho is currently walk/trot under saddle. His canter is very green and does need consistency with an experienced rider. He loads and hauls well, though he does need a tall trailer. Easy traveler. Zero buck, kick, bite, rear, crib etc. Jericho does well pastured and stalled, and currently lives out 24/7. He is fine to live by himself or with geldings. He can be flirty with just mares. He is a more dominant guy in the pasture, mainly due to his size. Not aggressive in the slightest. Stands for blanketing, bathing, grooming etc. Jericho can be a little pushy at feeding time, but listens well to a simple correction. He is a fairly easy keeper, no maintenance required. Jericho would make an excellent fox hunting prospect, trail horse, or tune him up and use him as a carriage horse. This guy travels well and is very brave in new situations and environments. He is very personable, loves attention, and is a very in your pocket kind of guy. Good with other horses, donkeys, cows, and farm equipment. Not spooky, nothing really phases him. Jericho is not for a beginner at this time. He would do best with at least an intermediate rider for the time being, or an intermediate rider working with a trainer. UTD on everything (dental, farrier, vaccinations).
