Let me introduce you all to my boy Ethan. I have had to make the difficult decision to sell him. Ethan is a 20 year old roan quarter horse standing at 15hh that I purchased last year and unfortunately things just aren't working out. Ethan has vices but with the right person he can overcome them. He has had 6 months of professional training done, he did very well unfortunately though if he is left to sit in the pasture even for a short amount of time he has to be restarted. He needs a consistent job 5-6 days a week. I need a kid friendly horse for my 2 young kids and unfortunately because of his vices he isn't the horse. Ethan isn't being advertised as a kids horse even tho my kids have ridden him as did my husband. Heâs not being offered as such. That doesnât mean that if he was with the right person he couldnât achieve everything and more. Heâs smart. You have to earn his trust just like any great horse. Once he gets to know you heâs in your pocket and shows you how amazing he is. He needs an experienced rider who is gentle, calm and has knowledge and experience. Currently UTD on all shots and coggins and is sound. Does load into a trailer. He is currently barefoot and will stand for the farrier, he does test the farrier. If the farrier is calm and patient with him he does settle down. Doesn't stand well on cross-ties. Throws a bit of a fit but will calm right down and stands. He can be tied, just doesn't like to stand still for very in the barn but get him outside and he will stand tied as long as you want him too. Has never been trail ridden during the time I have owned him aside from taking him out in the hay field which he did fine. He was trail ridden with the previous owner everywhere and has had western pleasure training at some point so heâs easy to refresh. Neck reins,wtc, backs, stops on a dime, ground ties, loads, bathes, has had his bridle path clipped and was fine I never full body clipped him so I donât know how he would do with that, stands for fly spray, stands for the vet, knows how to swap leads but needs encouragement.
