Meet Wonder, a 7-year-old registered Appaloosa mare out of HandPained Asset and Straws N Pine. Wonder has more whoa than go and has been trained for English or Western Pleasure and has competed in a handful of local shows, including a county fair. She works well off leg and side passes, backs through an L, pivots and leg reins. Wonder has a smooth jog and canter and stops on a dime. She is solid in showmanship and is a pro at squaring up, backing, pivoting, walking and trotting from the ground. She has a experience on the trail and has been horse camping a few times. She doesnât love going through water but she will with some prompting. She bathes, picks up her feet, and has a quiet disposition. She loads OK into the trailer (sometimes needs some extra encouragement, but she always gets in). She has a sweet, in-your-pocket personality. Wonderâs main draw-back (and the reason she is looking for a new owner) is the fact that she is a hard-keeper, a consideration to factor into your barn management program. She can also be a little high-strung in new environments until she settles in. Lastly, her feet can be tender on rocky surfaces, and yet she isnât a good candidate f or shoes. She does best riding in an arena or grassy field. If you look into Wonderâs breeding, you will find that her bloodlines are well suited for the show ring, especially a hunt-seat horse. She also competed respectfully in ranch-riding pattern last summer. With her quiet demeanor and movement off leg, she also would do great in a trail class. She is a great pleasure show prospect for an Intermediate rider. Videos are of her third ride this Spring after sitting all winter. She will only get better from here!
