3 year old POA filly
Beautiful 3 year old POA filly. Loves people and attention. Best of POA breeding born to excel in Western Pleasure. Will make a super quiet sweet pony for kids and adults to trail ride or show. She would also make a fantastic addition to your broodmare band. Big bodied dark cherry colored roan with snowflakes and stripes has a coveted super thick drag on the ground tail that most exhibitors would kill for. She is a very classy extraordinary filly that will turn heads in the show pen. This young lady has excellent ground manners and will stand tied cross ties loads trailers clips and bathes. In hand we can move forward backward side to side by yielding front and hind quarters walk trot stop back up 4 different ways turn side pass and set up all quietly and with a good attitude. Recently took her to an extreme mountain trail course in Holland Michigan and she was amazing. She was able to complete all the following obstacles in hand with a great attitude rolling bridge suspension bridge rocking bridge shooting water box pond jumps giant raised poles and a deep gully just to name a few. This was her first time off my farm and she was a super quiet trooper! So excited to see that. Like shed been doing it since birth. Even stood quiet at horse trailer. I have also taught her to lunge and work at liberty in round pen. Shes been worked in hand on trails and obstacles in our woods. We have 5 toy Aussies that run at her and bark....she puts them in their place with a stomp of her foot and a swing of her head. Will get annoyed and speak her mind but is not scared. I am getting her prepared for first ride next spring. She is currently being taught to bridle saddle and ground drive. In preparation for our first ride we are working on standing quietly and moving into position at a mounting block by moving hip towards me. Just sat on her the other day and she didnt mind. We dont believe in pushing ponies too hard at a young age therefore we do not ride 2 or 3 year olds. They are started in a round pen and then put on the trail not in an arena. After a year of trail riding we come back to the arena to finish. We dont lope them right away either we protect their bodies. They must be able to do everything at a walk and trot first and be fit enough to lope with a rider this takes conditioning of mind body and spirit. Reasonable expectations and at a much slower pace letting pony find answer and encouraging them as they learn. This produces a quiet calm confident pony. We also believe in training without causing pain fear or intimidation. No abuse of whips and or bits and no use of chains or spurs. If you are looking for a classy mentally sound partner with zero abuse and no bad habits please consider scheduling an appointment to meet this fine filly. We are looking for a good fit and a forever POA family for this gal. Give us a call today!
