Spartan is what I call him, his registered name is Dr. Dew. He was an ex- harness racing horse. I do not have his papers because his previous owners didn't want him being raced again. He is very sweet and very good looking. he is a solid dark bay, almost black, no markings. A Nice lengthy main and tail and nice strong hooves. He's got long legs and his face has so much expression and kindness. He is 15 hands tall. He has never been ridden but because he was a harness racer he is used to lots of handling and commotion. They are usually very easy horses to break. I have saddled him and bridled him with no problem at all before. The only bad habits I have seen him ever display is he gets a little grumpy at feeding time, and he can be a little touchy with his back legs with the farrier.He retired from racing after only about a year. He sustained an injury to his left hind fetlock joint. His previous owners said he should heal to be sound. Since I have had him he hasn't showed any signs of not being sound. He never limps or favors the leg as far as I can tell and he lets me lift it and touch the area with no problem. I can no afford having two horses, so I am looking for a loving home for him that will make use of all his potential. I am asking only $275 for him to cover SOME of the cost of hay and grain that I have spent on him. Local pick up ONLY! I will not ship him.
