I am a professional farrier who has recently relocated to Escondido Ca from Ocala Fl. I am now taking on new clients and look forward to establishing my shoeing practice in the San Diego County area. I am an AFA certified Farrier with 16 years experience. I have extensive experience with a variety of breeds and disciplines. I have specialized in therapeutic and corrective shoeing, doing many Laminitis, and Navicular horses. I also feel it is important for farriers to participate in continuing education to improve their craft.
I believe that patience is a crucial quality in a farrier, therefore I will give your horses the care they deserve. There is one question I started asking myself years ago, and that is "What is shoeing/trimming horses to me?" Well shoeing/trimming horses to me is more then just trimming a foot and nailing on a shoe, it is not just the horse's physical state, but it's mental state as well. It's the care of the entire horse. Some may call this the holistic approach, I like to call it the common sense approach. I like to look at the horse and see what it needs to be comfortable and content from head to toe. I try to become the horse, thinking that if I was having my feet done every 6-8 weeks, how would I want them done in order to keep me comfortable, and to perform to the best of my ability. When you look at the horse this way it is much easier to prevent problems, and if necessary, fix them if they occur. I hope to have the opportunity to apply this way of thinking to your horses.
