Estrela is an elegant, liver chestnut mare, with chrome galore, and it is no wonder that she received 9's on her type at her foal inspection. Her walk and canter are active from behind and well balanced and both scored an eight at her mare inspection -- she was presented as a three yo. The purity and natural energy in her gaits will lend Estrela a competitive career in either dressage or eventing. In addition to her dressage training schedule, we have begun to jump and hack Estrela outside regularly -- she is a well rounded athlete!!! At her mare inspection her jumping scored 7's for ability, technique, temperament and overall impression -- she was described as a cooperative horse with nice willingness to go forward and nice to take order. Estrela is very leggy and has a deep barrel, so she is easily able to accommodate a taller rider. She adores attention and finds all of her confidence with her person....this is a mare that will form a rewarding bond. It should be noted that her sire, Briar 899 was an Olympic competitor that is recognized as 1 of the world's highest ranked dressage stallions. He is known for producing successful dressage and jumping offspring.
